Property Management Services Authority to Gazette List of Property Management Company and Property Management Practitioner Licence Holders Smooth Transition of the First Peak Period of Licence Renewal and Launch of the “ProMan Everywhere” Thematic Website
In accordance with the requirement stipulated in the Property Management Services Ordinance (Cap.626) (PMSO), the Property Management Services Authority (PMSA) will publish in the Gazette tomorrow the list of Property Management Company (PMC) and Property Management Practitioner (PMP) licence holders under the Property Management (PM) industry licensing regime as of 31 July 2026.
This year marks the important historic milestone of the 10th anniversary of the enactment of the PMSO and the establishment of the PMSA. On 19 August, the PMSA and the Home Affairs Department co-organised the “Property Management Summit” at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre under the theme “A Decade of Professional Excellence, Advancing Together”. Over 4,000 PM industry practitioners participated in the Summit in person and online, reviewing together the achievements of the PM industry over the past decade. In addition, starting from September, the PMSA will broadcast on various television stations TV Announcement in the Public Interest featuring “ProMan”, the PM industry’s “Property Invigilator” image ambassador, sewing in the community and safeguarding members of the public.
Under the PM licensing regime, the PMSA has already issued more than 800 PMC licences and over 22,000 PMP licences. Discounting those who have obtained both formal and provisional licences as well as those who hold more than one class of licence, there are currently more than 15,800 licensed PMPs fulfilling their duties as “Property Invigilator” to jointly safeguard various types of properties across Hong Kong, ensuring the smooth operation of the general public’s daily lives and enhancing community well-being and satisfaction.
Dr James WONG, Chairperson of the PMSA, said, “A substantial number of PMC and PMP licences were issued in 2023 and these three-year licences have recently been successfully renewed. This marks the smooth transition of the first peak period for licence renewal under the PM industry licensing regime, ensuring the continuous provision and normal operation of the relevant PM services.”
Dr. WONG emphasised, “To enable the general public to gain a deeper understanding of the ‘Property Invigilator’ in the industry who remain steadfast at their posts and work diligently behind the scenes, and to further enhance the professional status and image of the PM industry, the PMSA earlier launched the ‘ProMan Everywhere’ campaign and thematic website (https://www.pmsa.org.hk/tc/promaneverywhere). By sharing real-life stories of frontline PM practitioners actively fulfilling their duties, the campaign enables the public, particularly the younger generation, to have a more comprehensive understanding of the professional nature and positive contributions of PM work. In addition, the PMSA has also compiled the commemorative publication ‘ProMan Everywhere’, featuring more than 50 real-life PM stories, including safeguarding the lives and property of members of the public, professionally responding to emergencies, caring for and attending to the needs of property users, strengthening facilities maintenance and repair, actively mediating disputes and conflicts, keeping pace with the times to enhance service efficiency and standard, promoting sustainable development as well as occupational safety and health, and working with Care Teams to support property users in need, etc. It is a valuable commemorative publication paying tribute to PM practitioners across Hong Kong.”
To facilitate public understanding of PM services provided by licensed PMCs at properties across different districts in Hong Kong, the PMSA earlier launched the “Licensed Property Management Companies Property Management Database” (the Database). The Database has now been updated and contains information up to 31 July this year. The PMSA will update the information in the Database every three months (https://www.pmsa.org.hk/tc/information-centre/publicdata).
