Property Management Services Authority Conducted Exchange with Property Management Industry Professional Bodies/Business Associations from Cross-Strait Four Regions

The Property Management Services Authority (PMSA) conducted exchange this morning with property management (PM) professional bodies/business associations from the cross-strait four regions (list in appendix) during which the PMSA introduced its work and progress of implementing the PM industry licensing regime in Hong Kong. Active exchanges were also made in respect of the PM industry licensing work, regulatory arrangements and continuing professional development (CPD), etc.

Dr James WONG, Chairperson of the PMSA said, “Under the socio-economical development of the cross-strait four regions, the demand for PM services has increased substantially, creating huge growth opportunities and new challenges for the PM industry, PM companies (PMCs) and practitioners (PMPs). Indeed, the PM industry to enhance its professional standard and move towards personalised, digital and sustainable services has become a trend which has to be addressed without delay.”

Chairperson WONG emphasised, “The PMSA, as the statutory body tasked to regulate the provision of PM services by PMCs and PMPs as well as to promote the professional development of the PM industry in Hong Kong, will continue with its three-pronged approach of regulating through licensing, formulating codes of conduct and encouraging CPD in order to drive the PM industry to move towards enhanced quality and professionalism, thereby strengthening the professional standard and status of PM services. The PMSA looks forward to collaborating and exchanging with the PM industry from different cities and provinces across the cross-strait four regions and achieving joint development, thereby contributing together towards living and working in harmony for the community.”

The meeting today was arranged by the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Property Managers (HKCPM), one of the ten Recognised Professional Bodies of the PMSA. In addition, the Chief Executive Officer of the PMSA Mr Alan SIU made a presentation on PM Professionalism at the HKCPM Annual Seminar 2023 this afternoon, which was also attended by representatives of the PM professional bodies/business associations from the cross-strait four regions. In the evening, the Chairperson of the PMSA delivered a speech at the HKCPM Annual Dinner to welcome the PM industry from different provinces and cities of the Mainland, Taiwan and Macao for visiting Hong Kong to conduct exchanges.

The PMSA led a delegation of Hong Kong PM industry representatives to attend the 2023 China International Property Management Industry Expo in Shenzhen and visited the Shenzhen Municipality Housing and Construction Bureau last month in order to promote collaboration and exchanges amongst the PM industry in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
