Licensing Criteria

Property management practitioner licences are divided into two tiers which provide a clear career path to property management practitioners and those wishing to join the industry:

  1. Property Management Practitioner (Tier 1) Licence: Besides possessing relevant bachelor degree (or above) or equivalent academic qualification and relevant property management work experience, licensees must also hold professional qualification. This refers to being a member of a designated class, category, group or professional field of a PMSA recognised professional body.
  2. Property Management Practitioner (Tier 2) Licence: Licensees must possess associate degree, diploma (or above) or equivalent academic qualification and relevant property management work experience.

Young aspirers wishing to join the industry can enroll in specified property management or equivalent academic courses recognised by the Property Management Services Authority under the licensing regime. After graduation, starting as a Property Management Officer would be a stepping stone to the career ladder of the profession before gradually progressing towards middle and senior property management ranks.

Graduates possessing property management associate degrees, diplomas or above academic qualification specified by the Property Management Services Authority but have insufficient property management work experience will be eligible to apply for property management practitioner (Tier 2) licence once they have accumulated one year of work experience under the supervision of a property management practitioner (Tier 1) licence holder.

Property management practitioner (Tier 2) licensees with a bachelor or above degree or equivalent academic qualification who have accumulated sufficient property management work experience and have become a member of a designated class, category, group or professional field of a Property Management Services Authority recognised professional body can apply for property management practitioner (Tier 1) licence from the Property Management Services Authority.
