The Property Management Services Authority Meets with The Hong Kong Federation of Trade Unions for Exchange

The Property Management Services Authority (PMSA) met today with representatives from the Hong Kong Federation of Trade Unions (FTU), including Legislative Council Member TANG Ka-piu, to introduce the work of the PMSA and the latest development of the property management (PM) licensing regime in Hong Kong, and had in-depth discussion on issues covering the strengthening of district collaboration, resolving district PM matters, and promoting the professionalism of the PM industry.

Dr James Wong, Chairperson of the PMSA, said at the meeting, “The PMSA is receptive to receiving constructive views and attaches great importance to enhancing communication at district level, with a view to driving the PM industry towards professionalism and excellence. Recently, the FTU had referred a district PM case to the PMSA. With the FTU’s coordination, the PMSA’s intervention, and the relevant licensed PM company’s follow-up actions, the PM issue was resolved satisfactorily. We hope to continue with such similar collaborative approach in future to address district-level PM matters more effectively.”

Since the implementation of the PM licensing regime, the industry has continued to thrive healthily. Currently, Hong Kong has over 800 licensed PM companies and more than 15,000 licensed PM practitioners, leading over 200,000 frontline staff in providing quality, professional, and reliable PM services to various types of properties. PM practitioners are conscientious in ensuring our smooth daily life, safeguarding our properties and public health, and bearing the crucial responsibilities of ‘Property Invigilators’. They also make contributions positively to facilitate our harmonious lives, while supporting Government policies and helping to improve and resolve different social issues. In future, the PMSA will continue to play a bridging role, collaborating with various stakeholders in the PM industry to consolidate the efforts of all parties and to leverage on existing foundation to promote the continuous and prosperous development of the industry.
