Property Management Services Authority Conducted Exchange with Connswater Homes from Northern Ireland

The Property Management Services Authority (PMSA) conducted exchange today with representatives from the Chartered Institute of Housing Asian Pacific Branch (CIHAPB) / Connswater Homes, a property management (PM) organisation from Northern Ireland, during which the PMSA introduced its work and the progress of implementing the PM industry licensing regime in Hong Kong. Exchanges were also made in respect of the trends and sustainable development of the international PM industry.

Alan Siu, Chief Executive Officer of the PMSA said, “Since the implementation of the PM industry licensing regime, the PMSA has been active in networking with PM organisations from various regions in order to keep up-to-date with the progress of the international PM industry and seek to promote the local PM industry to tie in with international development for advancement towards enhanced quality and professionalism. The visit of the PMSA by Connswater Homes representatives and the sharing on progress of different PM aspects of Northern Ireland have helped the PMSA to better understand the opportunities and challenges presented by the global PM industry’s trend towards sustainable development.”

Alan Siu added, “Under the PM industry licensing regime, over 780 PM companies and more than 14,000 PM practitioners in Hong Kong have already been licensed by the PMSA, providing PM services to over 2.4 million units in different types of properties in Hong Kong. They are a major professional force and invaluable asset and resources in driving the future development of Hong Kong. CIHAPB / Connswater Homes’ representatives visiting Hong Kong and exchanging with the PMSA fully reflects that the development of the PM industry in Hong Kong towards enhanced professionalism is well recognised by the international professional community. The PMSA will continue to enhance cooperation with different PM professional bodies across the globe in future, so as to understand and learn from each other the development of the PM industry of different places.”
